Our client in the Gables Estates neighborhood wanted to lighten up her existing outdoor decor with lighter-colored fabrics and furniture frames. The goal was to create a cohesive look throughout their many outdoor spaces, which included a covered pavilion, dining area and bar, exposed sun area and two sitting areas. The plan was to use as much of the existing darker-framed furniture as possible, with an eye towards implementing new design elements, which were lighter and more casual, yet elegant. We added beautiful, large white umbrellas to the sun areas, which mirrored each other across the pool. Serene aqua accessories and a touch of rustic teak completed the spaces. The final result is a soothing, yet elegant, feeling throughout the many outdoor areas of this lovely, Mediterranean Gables Estates home.
Our client – who loves entertaining – had just completed a total renovation (interior and exterior) of their home. They wanted a backyard and outdoor space with a fresh new look that would complement the home renovation and where they could entertain friends and family. The client built a beautiful pool and putting green, as well as a large pavilion with an outdoor grill, refrigerator and two large-screen televisions. For their outdoor furnishings, they were looking for a “weathered look,” and they hoped to achieve a functional, yet beautiful, design. We created a gorgeous sectional seating area under the pavilion – perfect for lounging, entertaining and watching sports and television. We included a fire pit coffee table, which adds warmth and brings people together. The client also wanted a lounge area, dining table for eight and an area for relaxing by the putting green. The “weathered look” was realized throughout the patio areas, while also maintaining the functionality of the spaces.
This project was a total renovation of the client’s outdoor spaces and included pool, patio and associated landscaping. Living Alfresco was invited to design the outdoor living spaces and curate the furnishings. The client has a very large yard and a young family. They wanted an exposed sitting area, where they were installing a concrete fire pit, a deck for sunning, covered dining for eight and an exposed dining area by the outdoor kitchen (to be completed in future projects). They were seeking a clean, more contemporary look that could withstand South Florida weather. We customized all the frames and fabrics and included accessories – pillows, garden stools and a few of the glass table tops – in a clear aqua color. The final product includes five cohesive patio areas that are durable and low-maintenance, yet beautiful.
